I'm writing an open ultimatum to Goonfleet to ask them to, once and for all, clean up their act.

One of the huge sadnesses about this 'Great War' is that it could and should have been the greatest, most compelling battle that Eve has EVER seen. It's got all the right ingredients - an age old rivalry, endless twists and turns, and even seizmic changes in our political landscape that see one side, then the other seem in control, and the tide seeming set to turn once again.

Yet rather than being a fascinating clash that once again confirms Eve as, in my view, the greatest online game by miles it's in danger of becoming 'epic' for all the wrong reasons.

Goonfleet have the potential to be an awesome power within Eve, and I'm sure they've got some decent pilots in there, even if they're rarely given the chance to fight effectively and they've sure as hell got the numbers. But the incessant use of noobships and other 'irrelevant' ships simply to create such ridiculous lag that tactics become impossible is ruining what could be some awesome fights. Your allies have more than enough firepower and numbers to win the battle and tbqh your playstyle is hindering rather than helping your cause.

I know that I can sometimes be a controvertial figure (due to my attempts to clean up the forums) and at times I, too, have been guilty of getting overheated on what should be a mature, informative and (at times) amusing addition to our experience of this game. But the odd bit of baiting and ridicule on my part is nothing compared to the juvenile postings, personal attacks, threadnoughts, metagaming and deliberate attempts to aggrevate non-RSF players by references to R/L occurences have SURELY got to stop.

That's why I'm making this open appeal to Goonfleet leadership to FINALLY take action and be accountable for the actions of their members.

This has nothing to do with who is fighting who - I think everyone is loving the pew pew - but it's to do with maturity, respect, and - ultimately - making the game a better place for us all.

And that's why I'm making this ultimatum to Gloomswarm. Please, in all sincerity, clean up your act and we can make this game a better place, and this war the greatest clash an MMO has ever seen.

And if you're wondering, dear Goon leadership, what's in it for you I'll be blunt. If you don't sort yourselves out I'm going to switch to become a Goon fanboi. Just imagine the horror of seeing Windypops posting on your behalf, day in, day out. Serously. Just imagine it...

(PS - I'd also welcome a war dec from Goonfleet. I know those who don't agree with what I say LOVE to call me an alt, but I think you'll find I'm really rather active in game...)
